Le naturel revient au galot dit-on…Pas avec moi, avant que je n’achète chez Amazon cette formidable tablette graphique.
Qu’est-ce que le naturel en l’occurence? C’est pouvoir effectuer des tâches par des gestes intuitifs, sans passer par des abstractions informatiques, bref, les vrais gestes d’antant, avant l’ordinateur.
Quel plaisir d’ajouter une signature tracée à la main, d’effectuer simplement un détourage en suivant un contour, de jouer sur la pression pour doser l’opacité ou l’épaisseur d’un trait, de faire un croquis à main levée !
Assez de lyrisme (je rassure mes lecteurs!). Détaillons un peu :

* le package est très intéressant car il comprend un choix de logiciels en téléchargement, notamment Photoshop Elements 8(il faut s’enregistrer sur le site de Wacom).
* Taille de la tablette : je la trouve très satisfaisante pour un écran de 24 pouces et pour la retouche photo. Elle n’oblige pas à des mouvements trop amples et elle permet des tracés très précis, d’autant plus qu’une molette permet de zoomer facilement. L’encombrement est réduit, la tablette pouvant se mettre de côté facilement (le câble usb de 2 mètres est un point très satisfaisant à cet égard). Un dessinateur pourra préférer la taille supérieure…
* Aspect et toucher : bel aspect, matériaux de qualité sans commune mesure avec des concurrents moins chers ; la surface sensible est de très bonne facture et semble résistante, avec un toucher soyeux.
* Pilote : aucun problème (conseil : n’installez pas le CD livré, téléchargez la dernière version ). Je l’ai testé sur les produits suivants : Windows Seven 64 bits, Word 2010, Photoshop Elements, Nikon Capture NX2,Sony Vegas Pro 10, One note 2010.
* Utilisation : simple et paramétrable pour chaque logiciel (j’ai un réglage pour Photoshop et un autre pour capture NX). Particulièrement adaptée à Photoshop puisque les raccourcis Alt, Ctrl, Maj, main sont affectés à des touches de fonction.
* Prise en main : attention, il faut un temps d’adaptation si comme moi, vous n’avez jamais utilisé que la souris. Mais après quelques jours, j’ai complètement abandonnée celle-ci pour les travaux photo et montage de film.
* Reconnaissance d’écriture (testée avec Word 2010) : très efficace.

Conclusion : très bon rapport qualité/prix ; ne perdez pas de temps et d’argent avec des concurrents apparemment moins chers (j’ai payé pour apprendre…je n’en dirai pas plus car je ne dénigre pas). Au prix d’une adaptation de quelques jours, vous allez redécouvrir vos logiciels de retouche et d’écriture.
Néamoins, même si la tablette peut remplacer complètement la souris, je conserve cette dernière car je la trouve plus pratique pour d’autres tâches. Peut-être la force de l’habitude?

Mini mallette en carton noir satiné, la tablette se trouvant dans un très fin étui protecteur noir mat, doc et CD-ROM dans un petit étui carton satiné noir et accessoires avec le stylet rangés impeccablement. Autant dire que rien qu'en voyant la présentation du packaging, on sent déjà la qualité du produit à plein nez.<br/>En sortant la tablette de son très fin étui, la première impression se confirme, c'est du beau, du très classe, d'une remarquable finition et d'une finesse en épaisseur ! L'installation de la tablette, dans mon cas sous Windows Vista 64bits, se fait comme une lettre à la poste, aucun problème.<br/>Quand à son utilisation proprement dite, pour de la retouche photo dans mon cas précis, c'est un autre monde. Après quelques essais de sélections, détourages.....etc sous PhotoShop CS4 et CS5 on comprend de suite la précision de cet outil, ce qu'il apporte en facilité de travail post traitement, en flexibilité, en qualité. L'Intuos4 M s'accommode parfaitement avec un écran de grande diagonale (ex: un LaCie 526 de 26").<br/>Etant gaucher, pour l'écrit avec un stylo mais droitier avec une souris, la configuration gaucher de la tablette est un énorme plus. Un très beau produit et un outil d'une très belle efficacité.<br/>Pour le nettoyage de la tablette, un plumeau Swiffer pour la poussière. l’inconvénient c’est quand on veut tirer vers le haut alors la souris3D a tendance à se soulever.
Mais ça se révèle quand même très pratique à l’usage malgré ce défaut et un autre il manque aussi la proportionnalité pour changer la vitesse de rotation en fonction de la vitesse du mouvement.
Ce genre de produit est donc très utile pour tous ceux qui font de la 3D. Dommage que le rapport qualité prix ne soit pas si bon.

La facilité d'utilisation est tout à fait déconcertante.<br/>Ce que je remarque lors de mes démonstrations est que mes élèves oublies très vite le Space Navigator. Aucun à-coup, la navigation est fluide, le déplacement semble naturel. J’utilise le Space Navigator depuis 2 mois principalement avec Google Earth pour des démonstrations devant mes élèves (géographie, géologie). La facilité d’utilisation est tout à fait déconcertante.
Ce que je remarque lors de mes démonstrations est que mes élèves oublies très vite le Space Navigator. Aucun à-coup, la navigation est fluide, le déplacement semble naturel. Ce qui n’était pas le cas avec la manipulation à la souris.
Très bel outil, j’ai hâte de voir ce que cela donne avec des outils 3D de type Google Sketchup

Outre la molette désagréable, cette souris:

En second lieu, c'est les touches programmées pour Windows Media Player incluant Play/Pause/Vol+/Vol-/volOFF ainsi qu'une touche d'accès rapide à la calculette windows (en apparence futile mais très pratique à l'usage).<br/><br/>Ce clavier est correctement lesté (poids/stabilité) et tient donc bien en place, que ce soit sur les patins anti-glisse ou ergots surélévateurs ouverts. Un bon point pour un clavier d'entrée de gamme.<br/><br/>On regrettera sans doutes le manque de relief du lettrage des touches ce qui devrait induire une usure prématurée de celui-ci. Il faut donc voir à l'usage si le marquage tient la route au non.<br/><br/>En bref, je recommande ce clavier qui, malgré un design un petit peu austère, est un régal à l'usage. Ce commentaire fait référence à cette édition : Microsoft – Wired Keyboard 600 – Clavier filaire – Noir (Appareils électroniques)

On aurait pu s’attendre à un design un peu plus soigné pour un clavier signé Microsoft mais, force est de constater que l’ergonomie de celui-ci n’a pas beaucoup de défauts donc on passera sur l’aspect un peu militaire de l’objet.

Ce qui frappe (si je peux dire) c’est le silence relatif des touches et leur souplesse. En second lieu, c’est les touches programmées pour Windows Media Player incluant Play/Pause/Vol+/Vol-/volOFF ainsi qu’une touche d’accès rapide à la calculette windows (en apparence futile mais très pratique à l’usage).

Ce clavier est correctement lesté (poids/stabilité) et tient donc bien en place, que ce soit sur les patins anti-glisse ou ergots surélévateurs ouverts. Un bon point pour un clavier d’entrée de gamme.

On regrettera sans doutes le manque de relief du lettrage des touches ce qui devrait induire une usure prématurée de celui-ci. Il faut donc voir à l’usage si le marquage tient la route au non.

En bref, je recommande ce clavier qui, malgré un design un petit peu austère, est un régal à l’usage.
