L’emballage de la Logitech G9x est original et très soigné. Celui-ci s’ouvre à la façon d’un livre, laissant apparaître en page intérieure une deuxième coque. L’inscription “Gaming” donne le ton : c’est une souris haut de gamme.

Voyons voir …

La souris est équipée d’une coque Lisse “XL” (grise) large et bombée. La deuxième coque “Précision” (noire) est petit peu plus étroite, basse et rugueuse. Ces 2 coques sont facilement interchangeables et conviendront pour tous les types d’utilisation. Une attention particulière a été apporté au fil : celui-ci est gainé et semble très robuste.

La souris dispose d’un système de réglage de poids, il s’agit d’un compartiment intérieur pouvant accueillir 4 poids pour un total de 28 Gr. Utile pour régler l’inertie dans les jeux. Notez que la souris est plutôt lourde d’origine, je n’ai pas jugé utile d’en rajouter.

Des témoins à LED, situés sous le bouton du clic gauche permettent de régler et visualiser la sensibilité de la souris. Cela se fait par paliers en appuyant plusieurs fois sur le bouton au dessus des LEDs. La molette de défilement est multidirectionnelle et crantée d’origine, mais vous pouvez la mettre en “roue libre” grâce au bouton situé sous la souris. Les boutons “suivant” et “précédent” sont accessibles sous le pouce et sont placés idéalement. Le toucher est parfait.

Enfin, un bouton “profile” est situé sous la souris. A l’aide de ce dernier, vous pourrez sélectionner des profils d’utilisation. Il y a 3 profils par défaut et vous pourrez les personnaliser avec le logiciel fourni. Les réglages sont nombreux et facilement éditables et sauvegardables. Vitesse, Accélération, Axe, Sensibilité, Taux de rapport par secondes, … C’est très complet, et constamment truffé d’explications sur les effets obtenus.

Après installation, réglages et utilisation pendant une semaine, voici mes observations :

Cette souris a une taille basse de par sa conception et je ne suis à l’aise qu’au bout de 3 jours, temps nécessaire pour m’adapter au changement par rapport au design d’une souris dite conventionnelle. Je pense qu’elle aurait mérité d’être un tout petit plus haute afin d’épouser parfaitement la paume de la main.

La molette directionnelle est bien entendu cliquable, toutefois la pression a effectuer est à mon avis un petit peu trop importante. J’aurais apprécié retrouver la même sensation que les deux boutons situés sous le pouce.

Bien qu’affiché comme souris de Joueur, son utilisation ne se cantonne pas strictement à cette tâche. De part ses caractéristiques techniques et le véritable tableau de bord de réglages avancés, elle permet de jongler entre réactivité pour le jeu et précision pour le dessin par exemple.

Le constat est clair, il s’agit d’un bon produit et la caractère haut de gamme n’est pas démérité. Une fois la G9x maîtrisée, il est très difficile de réutiliser mon ancienne souris et j’en arrive à ignorer les petites observations plus haut …

La réputation de Logitech dans le domaine des périphériques de qualité n’est plus à faire, et le constructeur propose encore aujourd’hui un produit haut de gamme.
La souris est filaire, mais c’est son seul point faible, et cela ne constitue pas nécessairement un défaut en fonction de votre installation.
L’installation est aisée et les drivers ne sont pas nécessaires. Le logiciel “Setpoint” de Logitech donne quand même accès à l’ensemble des réglages complémentaires, il est donc recommandé pour tirer le maximum du périphérique.
La prise en main est excellent avec les 2 coques fournies, et la possibilité de lester la souris peut paraître superflue, mais pour ma part j’ai ajouté 28g (le maximum) afin d’augmenter la stabilité.

En équipant son tableau de bord avec 6 unités, vous vous retrouvez dans la même configuration que lorsque vous êtes dans le cockpit. Etant pilote privé, je peux vous assurer que cette simulation reproduit fidèlement la réalité. L'installation et les réglages sont faciles. La souris marche et est bien réactive. Cependant, après 2 semaines d’utilisation “normale”, la tige reliant la roulette au capteur s’est cassée. Ceci rend la souris irréparable. Plutôt à éviter donc.

Les pilotes, pas obligatoires, sont de bonnes factures. Une bonne souris comme sait en faire Microsoft, la nouvelle technologie “blue” apporte un confort et une utilisation sur (presque) toutes les surfaces, seules les tables ou buro en verre ne sont pas digérés par la souris, par contre elle marche très bien sur son pantalon par exemple.
La prise en main est bonne, les clics sont confortables et les boutons bien placés, seul hic la molette “roue libre” qui peut dérouter les habitués aux molettes à cran. Les pilotes, pas obligatoires, sont de bonnes factures. Le dongle radio est un peu gros, car n’oublions pas que cette souris est dévolue aux Notebook.
Ayant aussi acheté la VX Nano de Logitech pour mon transportable, je pense que le choix de celle-ci est plus judicieux.
Mais je ne regrette pas cet achat.
